FAQ

+ What makes your photography service unique?
Since 2013, I’ve been working as a product photographer and a practicing artist in Chicago. This decade-long experience helps bring a unique eye toward fine art documentation. My first question to you is always, “What story does your art want to tell?” To me, it’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about getting to the essence of your work. I am a firm believer in the authenticity of the moment, aiming to capture your art as genuinely as one might experience it firsthand. My focus is on precision and authenticity during the shoot, minimizing the need for post-production to let the true essence of your art take center stage.
+ Do you not give discount for supplementary shots?
Many services might reduce prices for additional images like side or back views. However, I consider every angle of a piece—whether it’s the side view of a painting or any other perspective—equally crucial. These “supplementary” shots reveal unique aspects of the work; they are fragments of an infinitude that contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the artwork. Thus, I dedicate the same meticulous attention to these images as I do to the primary ones. While my rates are set to mirror the high-quality service and expertise provided, I’m open to discussing your specific needs and budget to ensure you receive the best possible value for your project.
+ How about a discount for a large session?
Quality is paramount in my service, and each image receives dedicated attention. Ideally, sessions encompassing 10 to 15 images strike the best balance between service quality and output. Consequently, my pricing reflects this optimal range. Sessions that include a larger number of images risk diminishing the care and quality each image deserves due to service fatigue. This pricing structure is designed to ensure you receive both top-notch quality and value as a client.
+ Can you photograph large pieces or installations?
Absolutely, I specialize in documenting both large artworks and installations. To ensure the highest quality service, please share the dimensions and details of your piece. This will allow me to assess and confirm my capability to meet your documentation needs effectively.
+ How can I book a photography session?
Thank you for your interest! Kindly fill out this booking form, and I’ll be in touch with you shortly. Ofcourse, please don’t forget to read the terms of service
+ How should I prepare my artwork for photography?
Before our session, please prep your pieces exactly how you envision them displayed in the ideal setting, such as in an exhibition. If your artwork will be showcased without frames, kindly remove them ahead of time. Make sure each piece is clean, dust-free, and ready for its close-up. For on-location shoots, like in your studio, it’s essential to have a tidy and safe space. Remember to arrange all necessary display aids, like white walls or pedestals, to present your work in its best light. This attention to detail will ensure we can focus on capturing your artwork efficiently.
+ How long does a typical photography session last?
The duration can vary based on the project’s scope, but generally, a standard session spans between 2 to 3 hours.
+ What is the turnaround time for receiving images?
Delivery time is 3 to 5 business days following the session, subject to the project’s complexity.
+ In what format will I receive my images?
Each picture will be delivered as both a web-friendly PNG file and a high-quality, large-format TIFF file.
Custom deliverables are available upon request.
+ Do you provide the raw files?
A common inquiry, but regrettably, the answer is no. The rationale is twofold. Firstly, raw files represent unfinished works. Just as one wouldn’t request a writer’s drafts or a painter’s preliminary studies, a photographer’s raw files or negatives are part of the creative process that’s not typically shared. Secondly, raw files contain editable data that can be manipulated, making it a matter of professional integrity to keep these files confidential.
